Top Ranking for Compass Chambers in Legal 500 UK 2027
Compass Chambers and our members have once again received top rankings from the Legal 500 in the 2027 edition of the directory.
Members received 25 individual rankings across 2 practice areas while the stable as a whole retained its top tier ranking in both Crime, Regulatory & Inquiries and Personal Injury & Medical Negligence.
In Crime, Regulatory and Inquiries, Compass have 13 members ranked. The directory states that Compass is “routinely sought after for its established track record in handling complex regulatory criminal matters, health & safety work, and high-profile public and Fatal Accident Inquiries.”
Gavin Anderson KC, Peter Gray KC, Murdo MacLeod KC, Barry Smith KC, Mark Stewart KC, Angela Grahame KC and Claire Mitchell KC are all ranked as Leading Silks, with Emma Fraser (Toner) KC and Barney Ross KC highlighted as silks appointed in the last two rounds.
Kate Bennett, Clare Connelly and Carla Fraser are ranked as Leading Juniors and Elaine Smith is noted as a rising star.
In Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, Compass have 12 members ranked and whose descriptions include ‘having an excellent track record’, being ‘meticulous’ and ‘first-class’.
Receiving recognition as KCs at the very top of their field are Robert Milligan KC, Lesley Shand KC, Astrid Smart KC, Amber Galbraith KC, David McNaughtan KC and Calum Wilson KC who are all ranked as Leading Silks. Barney Ross KC is highlighted as a new silk.
