Jan McCall

Jan was an assistant and partner with Thompsons acting for pursuers in personal injuries actions in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court for about 10 years prior to admission as an Advocate.

She has extensive experience in reparation actions in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court having dealt with a wide range of claims including accidents at work, occupiers liability, road traffic accidents, including fatal accidents and high value claims, occupational diseases including HAVS and asthma, liability under the package holidays regulations, and product liability.

Jan has a special interest in health and safety law in the oil and gas industry having been involved in personal injury and fatal claims in the North Sea and overseas. She was junior counsel in the important cases involving accidents on offshore installations: Robb v Salamis (M & I) Limited and Spencer-Franks v Kellogg Brown and Root Limited & Others.
