Sumburgh Inquiry
The Fatal Accident Inquiry into the deaths of four passengers on a helicopter carrying offshore workers near Sumburgh in August 2013 was formally opened today. At the first Preliminary Hearing in the case, Sheriff Principal Pyle fixed further diets and a provisional start date for the Inquiry of 18 May 2020. Peter Gray QC, Gavin Anderson, Susan Duff, Barry Smith, Emma Toner and Ranald Macpherson, all of Compass Chambers, represent six of the ten interested parties participating.
