Since calling to the bar in 2014, Grant has developed a personal injury practice acting for pursuers and defenders in relation to road traffic accidents (including catastrophic injury), injuries in the work place, industrial disease (including fatal and living mesothelioma cases), medical, dental and nursing negligence litigation.
Grant has a particular interest in fatal cases and their valuation and the use of Ogden Tables and co-wrote an article which can be found here. Grant is currently instructed on behalf of the surviving relatives in relation to the sinking of a fishing vessel in 2016.
In relation to clinical negligence cases, Grant has been instructed on behalf pursuers, health boards and GP’s. His experience includes actions arising from a failure to diagnose meningitis, injuries sustained during surgery and vaginal mesh litigation.
Grant has appeared in the Court of Session (Inner and Outer House), All-Scotland Personal Injury Court, Sheriff Appeal Court (both Civil and Criminal) and many Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland.
Grant also has a criminal practice and has represented clients in the High Court of Justiciary and Criminal Appeal Court. He is an Ad Hoc Advocate Depute and is also Standing Junior Counsel to the Advocate General.
