PRACTICE:

Peter has experience in many areas of civil litigation, including reparation, commercial litigation, construction law and professional negligence. His principal fields of practice include:-

  • Personal Injury
  • Insurance Litigation

Peter specialises in personal injury work in which he is instructed for both Pursuers and Defenders on behalf of Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Local Authorities and Trade Unions. He is instructed by many of the leading firms in Scotland. In addition to the Court of Session Peter has appeared frequently in the Sheriff Court. He has appeared in the House of Lords.

He has extensive experience of catastrophic claims, including in particular brain and spinal injury cases, claims in respect of industrial diseases (particularly asbestos related disease), psychiatric injury, work related stress claims and fatal claims.

In addition Peter has experience in commercial matters, such as building contract cases, arbitration and company law matters.

As an ad hoc Advocate Depute, Peter has prosecuted a number of cases in the High Court.
